"I whipped this up one evening for dinner and was amazed how delicious it turned out! Somewhat unusual combination, but you will LOVE it...I know my kids and I sure did!"

1 (16 ounce) package angel hair pasta
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, divided
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed and chopped
2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 avocados - peeled, pitted, and mashed
1/2 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

DIRECTIONS
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add angel hair pasta, cook for 5 to 6 minutes, until al dente; drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent stickiness.,
Heat the remaining 3 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, and cook the garlic for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the asparagus and tomatoes, stirring to coat. Pour in the broth, and continue cooking uncovered 10 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender, but still bright green.
Place the pasta in a large bowl, and toss with the asparagus and tomato mixture. Season with dill and pepper. In a separate bowl, mix the avocados, lime juice, and garlic powder together until blended.
Serve pasta with a dollop of the avocado mixture, and top with shredded cheese.

Just a note to mention that the recipe for some reason includes draining the asparagus and tomato mixture after it is cooked until tender....but you are NOT supposed to drain it, otherwise you will have some VERY dry pasta ;) Not sure why the error is there, but that is not how I originally wrote it :)

This recipe came through yesterday as the recipe of the day. I read it and immediately decided to try it. I prepared it exactly as the recipe called for and found it delicious. It was not watery and I brought it to work today and even reheated in the microwave with no problem..this will be a "keeper" as my husband says.

This is by far the best meal I have made. I did do some variations. I boiled my pasta in chicken broth. I fryed the asparagus and tomatoes with some white wine also. I did add more chicken broth with the veggies. The avacado with lime was excellent!!!A must try meal everyone loves.

This is a great summertime dish. My husband & I loved it! I did make a few changes...added a little extra garlic powder to avacado mixture as well as some salt for a boost. Also, instead of using the cheese as a topping, I put it in with the pasta while it was warm so it was melted throughout the dish...delicious! Thanx for this recipe Brendajst!

While the flavour of this was nice, it was way to watery. I tried to add cornstarch for thickening, but while boiling it down, my asparagus ended up over cooked. I suppose you could remove the veggies before thickening. I won't make it again.

Recipe quick and easy but bland, so I added bacon bits to it and it really made a delicious difference. I also added some basil and sundried tomato. Next time I'll add some onion while cooking the garlic. And I skipped the avocado mix altogether and topped it with shredded parmesean cheese. A healthy dinner!

Wonderful and easy recipe, sure to impress everyone. I used half chicken broth, half white wine (Sauvignon Blanc). Additionally, I threw in about a half pound of shimp...perfect main course dinner!

We used vegitable instead of chicken stock and chedder cheese. The only thing that I can say against this recipe is that I ate too much ;-)

This was to die for! My only suggestion would be to cut down on the time you boil the pasta. It tends to soak up some of the water the asparagus is cooked in and it got a little soggy. This is a keeper!
